Form for Gender Affirming Care

The SSMU Board of Directors has decided to reassign reimbursement for Gender Affirming care from the StudentCare Gender Affirming Care (GAC) insurance plan to the Gender and Sexuality  Commissioner. The Commissioner will anonymize responses and manage reimbursement through the Gender and Sexuality Advocacy Committee. Typically, claims should be made after treatment. However, if you cannot pay up-front, you can request funding in advance provided you have an estimate or invoice. GAC coverage includes: transition-related surgeries not covered by RAMQ, vaginal dilators, lazer hair  emoval, and electrolysis. For questions, please contact gsc@ssmu.ca.
